Baptist East has expanded its Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) by an additional 16,000 square feet, making it the largest facility of its kind between Mobile and Birmingham. The upgraded unit now includes 30 infant beds, featuring 18 private rooms and 12 beds arranged in open pod layouts. These pods allow nurses to maintain clear visibility for monitoring while still supporting a balance of privacy and efficient patient distribution. This expansion is designed to enhance the level of care provided to newborns while preserving a family-centered environment.

The interior design emphasizes a calming, supportive atmosphere through a soothing color palette and thoughtfully selected furnishings chosen for both durability and comfort. Natural tones and soft textures help create a peaceful setting for families during what can be a stressful time. We are honored to see this project featured in Healthcare Design Magazine, marking an important milestone for expanded care in the region and the patients it serves.
